Description SHRINX Lounge Chair is pushing the boundaries for what is possible, literary, a lightweight club chair that offers an alternative to using foam in soft seating. Designed by Copenhagen-based designer Boris Berlin in collaboration with +Halle® and German textile supplier Krall+Roth, SHRINX is both a protest and a venture into a new category of upholstery for the future.

Rethink and shrink

As opposed to the stretching of textiles, the fabric is draped around the SHRINX steel frame and shrunk. Normally, when you apply textile to be stretched, you must stretch more fabric than what is in use. With the SHRINX Lounge Chair, you apply a loose piece of pre-sewn textile cover, place it neatly in the groove or tunnel of the frame, and then apply heat, allowing it to reshape in its entirety.

This climate footprint report is calculated according to EUs rules for Product Environmental Footprint (PEF). When data was not available from the brand-owner, conservative estimates has been applied. All phases of the product lifecycle are included in the calculation. For the phases after factory-gate; Use Phase and Disposal conservative estimates are applied, build from the PEF rules. Specifically, the Disposal part is calculated based on an EU average.
